OYSCATECH joins list of beneficiaries of TETFund

The efforts of the Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora to get the College enlisted as one of the beneficiaries of TETFund intervention funds have yielded positive results.

The Provost, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, (OYSCATECH), Igboora, Professor Gbemiga Adewale announced this recently at the management meeting held at the college.

He stated, ‘ I am pleased to announce that the College has been officially enlisted as a beneficiary of TETFUND, as approved by the BoT of TETFUND , to God be all the glory.’

The approval followed the verification visitation of Tertiary Education Trust fund ( TETFund) officials to the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora  in March 2019.

Earlier, the TETFund officials had visited the Oyo Stage College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

The team leader, Barrister Ifiok Ukim who doubles as the Director of Strategies for TETFund revealed that the visit became necessary, having received an application from the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora that the college had migrated from Monotechnic to Polytechnic and had also gained recognition of the National Board for Technical Education ( NBTE ).

The Team Leader explained that the visit was significant in order to verify if the College had satisfied the requirements for enlistment of beneficiary institution as indicated in the application received by the institution.

He hinted that upon the verification visitation,  the team is expected to submit it’s report to the Management of TETFund for recommendation to the Board of Trustees for enlistment as a beneficiary and following approval by the Board of Trustees,  the institution shall be enlisted.

Prof.  Adewale revealed that the College forwarded it’s application to TETFund following the the approval received from the National Board for Technical Education ( NBTE ) on the conversion of the College from Monotechnic to Polytechnic Status on 4th October, 2018.

The Provost noted that the College had applied to the NBTE for conversion of status since 19th September,  2014.

He added that the thirty programmes run by the College had received accreditation by the NBTE, while the College had graduated 2,083 students.

Professor Adewale, while expressing his joy on the approval received by the Board of Trustees said this would bring massive infrastructural and human capital development to the College.
