According to Osinbajo, the initiate was to encourage and boost the activities of Small and Medium scale enterprises like hair beauty salons.

Osinbajo explained that his mission to Edo State was to partner with the state government on behalf of the Federal Government to actualise the dream of power installation that would boost small scale business activities.

He added, “The Federal Government in collaboration with the state government are putting solar power so that our hair dressers will have power, those who need to have power in their shops and stores in the markets will have power.”

“And that is one of the first reasons why I am here. The second reason why I am here is for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) which is this our occasion.”

To the Vice President, the Buhari administration is committed to supporting businesses in Nigeria, especially the MSMEs.

Explaining further, Osinbajo stressed that relevant agencies of government like the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NAFDAC), the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), the Bank of Industry (BoI) were committed to helping small businesses with financial and moral assistance to help thrive.

He stated further: “The policy of the Federal Government is to support business, not just big businesses but particularly small and medium sized businesses.

“The whole idea of the MSME cleaning is that we want to ensure that we give whatever support whether it is cash, advise or even registration to all of our small and medium enterprises.”
