NEMA receives 153 stranded Nigerians from Libya

Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has again received a fresh batch of 153 stranded Nigerians from war-torn Libya.

The Director-General of NEMA who was represented by an official, Mr Slaku Lugard received the returnees on arrival at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport at  3:45 a. m Wednesday morning.

The returnees were flown back into the country through Lagos airport on board a Boeing 737-8GK marked 5A-DMV belonging to  Al Burqa Air with flight number UZ 189.

The breakdown of the returnees on registration showed that adult females were 59, four female children, seven infants female, 78 adults males, three male children and two infants males.

The returnees were brought back by IOM with the assistance of the European Union on reintegration.

Other agencies involved in the exercise include Immigration Services, NAPTIP, Refugee Commission and Edo State Task Force on Anti Trafficking.
