FG appoints new 4 non-executive directors for CBN, others

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of four (4) new Non-Executive Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He has also approved the renewal of the tenure of three Chief Executive Officers, and two new Chief Executive Officers for some federal agencies.

This was contained in a statement by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha on Friday in Abuja.

The four Non-Executive Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) are Adeola Adetunji, Professor Mike I. Obadan, Prof. Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko, and Prof. Ummu Ahmed Jalingo.

According to the statement, their appointments were for the initial period of four years, with effect from 7th June 2018.

President Buhari has also appointed Prof. Abdullahi Dasilva Yusuf as the Chief Medical Director of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, for the initial period of four years, with effect from 19th June 2018.

While Dr Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo has been reappointed as the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Unwana Afikpo, Ebonyi State, for the final term of four years, with effect from 7th August 2018, Arc. Olusegun Olarenwaju Aluko’s tenure has been extended for another for years as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, IIaro, Ogun State, with effect from 25th September 2018.

The National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, Edo State, has the tenure of its Rector, Engr. (Prof) Sunday Ohousi Onohaebi, extended for the final term of four years, with effect from 25th July 2018.

Buhari has also approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs) Pauline N. Ikwugbu, as Provost of Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu, Enugu State, for the initial period of four years, with effect from 19th March 2018.

The President urged the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to national service and to carry out their responsibilities with uprightness, diligence and prompt response to the yearnings of the public.
