Nigerians paid an average N151.4 per litre for petrol in April

Nigerian consumers paid an average of N151.4 per litre for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in the month of April.

The product which is usually referred to as petrol in the month under review was 7.3 percent or N12 less than the N163.4 consumers paid for the product in March 2018. This is however against the official government pump price of N145 per litre.

Although, Year-on-Year, the average priced paid for the product was 1.0 percent higher, as seen in figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The states were Nigerians paid the highest average price of PMS were Kebbi atN163.71, followed by Kogi at N160.79 and Jigawa at N160.46.

While the states were the petrol was bought at the least price in the country were Plateau atN145.00, Abuja at N144.95 and Bauchi (N144.17, as compiled from NBS.
