Nigerians have continued to condemn the killings in Zamfara State as they call on the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the herdsmen-farmers crisis in the country.

Some concerned individuals took to Twitter on Sunday to decry the rate at which people were killed in the state, saying several lives have been lost since the beginning of the year.
On June 2, 15 people were killed after gunmen invaded Zakuna village in Anka Local Government Area (LGA) of the state while no fewer than 10 others were killed in raids by suspected cattle rustlers on four remote villages barely two weeks later.
However, the Commissioner of Police in Zamfara, Mr Kenneth Ebrimson, told reporters on July 3 that they discovered the bodies of 41 persons suspected to be part of bandits terrorising the villages in the state.

A group of gunmen consequently stormed a mosque at Kawddi village in Zurmi LGA, killing four people while eight others were injured on Tuesday last week, one of the latest attacks in the state.

My thoughts and Prayers are with the people of Zamfara, may the souls of the departed rest in peace, may God grant their families fortitude to bear the loss.
I don’t know how to pray for those who are displaced as a result of these attacks, I can’t even imagine their situation.

We should be worried about the killings & destruction of property in Zamfara State. Heartless armed men are burning houses, slaughtering people, even pregnant women and babies. Plateau, Benue, S/Kaduna got same bites. I’m worried! Where’re the @PoliceNG ? pic.twitter.com/sWtla0Meje

The way this #Zamfaramassacre thing happened eh, it shows that no one shld fold their hands & feel safe in their state, becos Zamfara was a peaceful place one minute, next it was massacre after massacre. A hashtag won’t stop the killings, but the army can. Make Nigeria safe again

Unfortunately, as devastating as the killings in Zamfara is right now, a SOE won’t help them in anyway – ask the people of Maiduguri during the rise in spate of BH killings. It was only until the local vigilante group formed & worked closely with the army some progress was made.
