OYO State African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, has assured the residents of the state that in yet a little while, they will begin to experience a new lease of life.

Lanlehin made this remark at his campaign tour of Ibadan South-East/North-East Local Government Areas, which began at Adelabu Market, Orita Challenge, and which was attended by ADC chieftains like a former deputy governor of the state, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, Senator Gbenga Babalola, Honourable Wale Adegoke and Chief Lowo Obisesan.

Others included Honorable Dapo Lam Adesina, who currently represents Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency on ADC platform; the Minority Leader in the state House of Assembly, Honourable Akeem Ige and Honorable Fatai Adesina both representing Ibadan South-East Constituencies II and I respectively.

Lanlehin, who promised traders in the market of a business-friendly environment, told them that, “once we assume office, your businesses will receive every possible support to thrive.”

He later solicited electoral support for Honourables Ige, Adesina, Lam Adesina, and Senator Soji Akanbi as Oyo South Senatorial District Senator.

Speaking later at Iso Adiye, Molete, Lanlehin told the excited poultry traders that the need to leave a lasting legacy, improve the lives of the people, and become a reference point for service delivery are the reasons for his governorship bid.

Recounting how he attempted providing water for use in the market, but was stopped by the ruling party,  Lanlehin promised them that “once we assume power by the grace of God and your support, your welfare will be of utmost importance.” Lanlehin said.

The obviously elated sellers praised Lanlehin for his people-centred approach to governance and for always prioritising the welfare of the people, assuring him of their unflinching support in the elections.

The campaign train later visited the Felele residence of former Oyo State governor, Alhaji Lam Adesina, where prayers were held for a successful outing in the coming 2019 governorship poll.

After leaving Lam Adesina’s Felele residence, the train moved through Molete to Kudeti, Oke Oluokun, Odo Oba, Odinjo and environs.

A dramatic twist played out at Odo Oba when Lanlehin’s team came in contact with an ongoing naming ceremony of a set of twins.

The obviously elated Lanlehin stopped his convoy to exchange felicitations with the newborn babies and their parents.

“These babies have been born at a very good period in our history. This is because by the time they’ll start schooling, they’ll be attending free schools,” Lanlehin assured.

In fulfilment of traditional rites at naming ceremonies, Lanlehin donated an undisclosed amount of money to the newborn babies.

Inaugurating a borehole project provided for the people of the area by Honourable Ige later on, Lanlehin lauded the lawmaker for his efforts at delivering democratic dividends to his people, saying “our party is full of achievers like Honourable Ige, and that’s what makes the difference.”

The campaign train would later move to Ibadan North-East Local Government Area, where Lanlehin promised life more abundant for the people.
