The National Assembly has confirmed the postponement of plenary by two weeks.

A statement by Clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori, on Sunday night revealed that plenary will now hold on Tuesday October, 9 as against Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

Both chambers had adjourned plenary on July 24 for annual recess.

The statement attributed the postponement to the primaries of political parties for the 2019 General Election.

The two-paragraph statement reads: “This is to inform all Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members that resumption of plenary session earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 25th September has been postponed to Tuesday 9th October due to the activities of the primaries of the political parties.

“All Distinguished Senators and Honourable members are expected to resume plenary session by 10 am on the 9th of October, please.
