An aspirant for the gubernatorial ticket of the  People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje,  has said that the party would capitalise on the crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)in the State over the choice of its gubernatorial candidate to win the State in the 2019 general elections.
Agbaje who was a gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in the State in 2015 governorship election, is contesting the primaries against Deji Dorherty, who believed to backed by a former national Deputy chairman of the party and a leader of the party in the State, Bode George for the gubernatorial ticket.
But speaking last night at the venue of the party primaries held at yard 158 Oregun Ikeja, Agbaje said that the PDP in the State would be much stronger kn the 2019 general elections unlike in previous elections in the country.
Agbaje promised to revamp the education sector in the State and improve infrastructure, adding that he decided to seek the gubernatorial ticket because of his belief in his ability to win.
“We would reap from what is happening in the APC and we are ready to do that. Our part is much stronger now unlike before”.
“It is important to improve on the quality of our education in the state to meet up with the 21 st century. By the time we address education properly and address properly then a man who collects salary can give proper account of his income, he will have no fear about his children, health. These are some of the basic things that must be addressed”. Agbaje said.
Also speaking other aspirant, Deji Dorherty, promised  to run a prudent administration that would  free Lagos State of debt, stressing that he would provide enabling environment that would attract more investment to the State.
Dorherty lamented the epileptic power supply across the State promising to initial and independent power project that would aid industrial growth and for small business to strive.
“Everything in this primaries has been going well except for the crowd control which we had issue with but everything has been brought under control.
“PDP is a party of the people we prefer our delegate system rather that option 4 of All Progressives wells (APC). I would try and improve the power situation in Lagos so that small business and investment can grow in Lagos”.
“We are doing this because we need to rescue Lagos from debt. Free enterprise by reducing double taxation. Once the process is free and fair, I am one person that will accept the will of the people. I ran 2007, 2011, 2015. I lost in the primaries and worked as the Director general of the campaign organization of the candidate that won, that is my brother. Dorherty said.
Meanwhile the two aspirants has promised to accept the result of the primaries, they affirmed the supremacy of the party, pledging to work for each other and put the future of the party ahead of their personal interest.
