THE fortunes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2019 general elections is bleak unless it’s national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole resigns from office.

This tops the demands of aggrieved APC aspirants from the South-South region in a communique issued at the end of a stakeholder meeting at Udu, Delta State.

Convener of aggrieved aspirants’ forum, Alhaji Mumakai-Unagha Bassey Okon Ubor, who signed the communique, said with the corruption allegation hanging on the neck of Oshiomhole, it was time for him to throw in the towel.

Refusal to do so, the group insisted, would dip the 2019 electoral fortunes of the party in the South-South region.

While affirming its total loyalty and support towards his re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, the aggrieved aspirants frown on the substitution of names of candidates that actually won the party primaries election with those who did not win.

“Similarly, the meeting took a sweeping assessment of the Adams Oshiomhole led National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) vis-à-vis the infamous corruption allegation against the National Chairman and the crisis he has created.

“Above all, the stakeholders reviewed the performance of three years of President Muhammadu Buhari and the forthcoming elections.

“Having exhaustively discussed these and others, the stakeholders unanimously resolved as follows:

“That the South-South APC stakeholders still maintained the stand (position) for the resignation of the National Chairman, that the Adams Oshiomhole as Chairman of the party cannot deliver the Presidential election and other elective positions.

“That unless Oshiomhole resigns as the National Chairman, the fortune of the party come 2019 is bleak and dwindling.

“The Stakeholders frowns very seriousness the substitution of names of candidates that actually won the party primaries election against those who did not win.

“We call for immediate ratification of the situation to reduce litigations currently going in courts across the 36 states the Federal Capital Territory as well of decamping of faithful members of the party to smaller parties.

“That the stakeholders affirmed a commitment to the party and to deliver the party come 2019 in all the elective positions inclusive of the presidential election.

“The stakeholders also reviewed the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, therefore, affirmed our total loyalty and support towards his re-election bid.

“That the stakeholders past a vote of confidence on His Excellency Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, the Managing Director of NDDC, Engr Nsima Ekere, Usani Ugaru Usani, the Honourable Minister, Ministry of Niger Delta, Chief Timpre Silver and Chief Odigie, Oyegun, the former National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress,” the communique read.
