Private sectors urged to partner with government on education investment

Aminu Masari, Governor of Katsina State has stressed the need for private individuals to partner with the government, as no government could shoulder the responsibility of education.

Masari, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Higher Education, A. Bashir, described education as the best empowerment that could bequest any individual for better live.

Masari stated this at the launching and public presentation of a book in honour of Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji Igbaja, the founder of Al-Hikmah University.

The Katsina State Governor lauded the founder of the University for investing in higher education, with a call on other well meaning Nigerians to contribute to education sector.

He therefore, advocated for more investment in the education sector to reduce level of ignorance and poverty in the country.

In his good will message, Najimdeen Yasin, the Chairman of the occasion and President of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), represented by his wife, Maryam Yasin, noted that, the founder of the University did not attended any school, but with his love for learning, creativity and patient, he succeeded and recorded remarkable achievements in the education sector.

She appealed to government at all levels to assist the institution financially for it to further achieve a greater height.

Umar Saro, the Sarduana of Ilorin, represented by Shehu Abdulgafar, the Danmadami of Ilorin, submitted that Oladimeji contributed immensely to the propagation of Islam, and appreciated his zeal for promoting education at all levels.

The book titled “The unschooled schooling leaders: lessons on creativity, creative courage and creative capitalism the care stories of Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji”, jointly written by Muritala Awodun PhD, Abdulateef Oladimeji PhD and Habeebah Aiyelabegan.

Yusuf Ola Olu Ali, the Book reviewer and presenter, described the eight chapters book it as a must read which is full of life teachings, innovation, creativity, resilience and well contained liberal quotations of the honoree. As he even commended the authors, for the great work.

In his remark, Jibril Oyekan (Dr), the Pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the University of Ilorin, posited that, despite Oladimeji have no opportunity to attend school, he is championing education nationwide.

He described Oladimeji as a worthy ambassador, just as he called for wide circulation of the book to inspire other people, describing Alhaji Oladimeji as a worthy ambassador.
