We are solidly behind you, Kwara Youths assure Saraki
By Kwara youths have assured the Senate President, Bukola Saraki of their total support for him ahead of the 2019 general elections.
They asked the national leader of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to put his mind at rest, as they were fully prepared to deliver bulk vote to all the candidates of the party in the elections.
Describing Saraki as father of modern Kwara, the youths said they have a lot at stake in the election, as there was the need for them to sustain the leverage that the Senate President has given them since 2003 when he was first elected as the state governor.
The youths gave the assurance at the ABS Mandate Office, Ilorin during a youth stakeholders consultative meeting organised by the Youth Department of the PDP campaign council in the state.
Saraki had on Sunday inaugurated the PDP campaign council with a charge to its members to deliver all the elective positions to the party during next year’s elections.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of youths at the meeting, the Director, Youths of the PDP campaign council, Comrade Ben Duntoye thanked the youths for their support for the Senate President.
He said it gladdened his heart, as a youth himself that ” our youths have decided to take their destiny in their hands, having realised Saraki’s commitment to their progress, development and future. “
Duntoye noted with delight that Saraki had between 2003 and now accorded the youths their rightful place in the affairs of not only Kwara, but Nigeria.
He listed the beneficiaries of Saraki’s kind gesture to include himself as a former commissioner for Information, Bolaji Abdullahi as former minister, Zakari Mohammed, Ahman Patigi, Razak Atunwa as incumbent members of the House of Representatives amongst others.
” What is more, our leader has now picked a youth, Razak Atunwa as PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state.”
Duntoye asked the youths to remain steadfast in their support for Saraki as ” he remains the only politician in the state that is youth friendly and attend to their needs at all times, adding that” they should frustrate attempts by seasonal politicians to handover the state to Lagos politicians who have no stake in the affairs of Kwara state.”
