Benue Labour party flags-off campaign
The Benue state chapter of the Labour Party flaged off its campaign for 2019 general elections at the IBB square in Makurdi the state capital and promised to give the people quality leadership if given the mandate to take over power from the ruling party.
The party’s National deputy chairman, David Shisha, who presented the party’s flag to all the aspirants, said the party under his leadership will do everything humanly possible to unseat the present Government.
The Chairman assured all the aspirants of the party’s support, “The party is celebrating its centenarian anniversary, this is to show that the party has been in existence for a very long time”. The party will ensure that all the political positions are being occupied by members of Labour party come 2019. He added.
Speaking on behalf of all the aspirants who were presented with the party’s flag, the governorship aspirant under Labour party, Angya Paul said,
“The Labour party is the most gender friendly party because, it has a woman as a running mate and more women are aspiring for most of the political positions”.
He congratulated all the aspirants and urged them to be firm. He said, the agenda of the party is transforming, redemnming and rebuilding all the decayed Infrastructural facilities,that have been ignored by the present Government.
Angya,who also presented the party’s manifesto,affirmed that the party will put to an end to the culture of financial misappropriation, unemployment, non-payment of salaries amongst other ills which has been the major challenges for the people of Benue.
“The party is out to defend human rights and ensure that all citizens of the country benefit from the dividends of Democracy” he stressed further
He advised members of the party and entire citizens of the state not to sell their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) and cautioned them against violence, thuggery and assassination.
