HONESTY, laden with the fear of God, will move Nigeria out of the woods and Nigerians to greater heights, Pastor Ezekiel Adeniyi Adeoye, the outgoing General Overseer of New Life for All Nations Ministries, in Ibadan, has said.

Addressing a press briefing ahead of the Ministries’ annual convention, holding from December 20 to 23, 2018, he said he did not want to violate any principle of the ministry, hence his decision to retire before clocking 70 early next year.

According to the Assistant General Overseer and vice-president of the Ministry, Pastor Dr. Sunday Edokpayi, the theme of this year’s convention is Heirs of the Kingdom, taken from James 2:5.

He explained that the essence of Christianity is for the Kingdom of God and “there was the need to emphasise on those who will participate in the Kingdom.”

He urged Christians to have faith in God shun materialism, ‘live holy’, be true followers of Christ and stop politicising Christianity.

Meanwhile, pastors who worked closely with the general officer in the last five years spoke on their experience with him.

Pastor Olumide Orekoya, the General Secretary said, “Pastor Adeoye is humble, loving and generous.”

Also speaking, Pastor Matthew Akinboade, the Ministerial Board Chairman, remarked “Papa is neither greedy nor selfish. He lays good examples for others to emulate.”

Pastor Bamidele Lasisi, the Director, Missions/Outreaches added: “The Ministry increased numerically and significantly during the tenure of Papa” while Pastor Remi Akande, Youth Director & Financial Secretary, noted that a lot of infrastructural development took place during Papa’s tenure.

Pastor Bayode Amuleya, the Finance Director, opined that the general overseer was a great teacher of the Word.

The New Life for All Nations Ministries was founded by the late Pastor J.K. Solomon in 1972 and it has about 210 branches in Nigeria and West Africa.
