LACK of personal service of the charge sheet on the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen has stalled his arraignment before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

When the matter was called, Chief Wole Olanipekun  (SAN), leading over 40 Senior advocates challenged the validity of the charge as the prosecution failed to serve the CJN personally.

The registrar of the Tribunal did not serve the charge sheet on the CJN personally but was received by his aide.

Justice Umar, who adjourned till Tuesday 22nd January for the CJN to take his plea as well as to hear the application challenging the jurisdiction of the Tribunal.

He also directed that all processes in the matter be served on the CJN personally.
