THE staff of the Public Complaints Commission has been reminded to live up to their responsibilities to stamp out administrative injustice and shortchanging of consumers by public and private organisations. The new Commissioner of the Commission in Anambra state, Mr Sam Ben Nwosu, made the call when he formally assumed office at the Commission’s Office in Awka.

The Commissioner noted that the powers of the Commission are enshrined in the constitution by an Act of Parliament to protect Nigerian citizenry against any act of injustice and ensure standard, fairness and best practices by government agencies and employers of labour.

Mr Nwosu who maintained that workers must be dedicated to duty, be impartial, promised to serve diligently and with the good conscience by ensuring that new innovations are in place to ensure efficiency in the system and quick resolution to complaints while the immediate review of pending cases will be done.

Some members of staff of the Commission including Mr Paul Ogbuozoke and Mr Charles Ekwunife, commended the new Commissioner for showing vigour, promising to give him their unalloyed support to ensure the Commission becomes more efficient in service delivery.

The new commissioner later visited the State Director, Department of State Security, DSS, Yusuf Isyaku and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honorable Rita Maduagwu, where the Commissioner, Mr Nwosu solicited for their support through partnership, to help the commission achieve its aims and mandates.
The Head of the DSS and Speaker of the State House of Assembly promised to work hand in hand with the Commission to achieve results.
