INDIGENES and settlers of various communities in Kogi state on Wednesday assured the wife of Kogi state governor, Mrs Rashida Yahaya Bello, of their support for President Muhammadu Buhari, and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general election.

The people, who are inhabitants of various communities across the rural areas of Kogi state, also commended the governor’s wife for her gesture towards them.

They expressed their surprise over the visit of the first lady to the communities, saying that was the first time the wife of a sitting governor was coming to their communities.

In traditional settlement of Ganaja village, the indigenes pledged their support to the re-election of Buhari as they have benefitted from the social intervention programmes of his administration, especially for the rural dwellers.

Mrs Bello, who is the north-central coordinator for youths and women for the APC, kicked started the campaign for the re-election of Buhari with a town hall meeting which was held at Glasshouse, Government House where the wife of the president, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbanjo and other North Central governor’s wives.

She took the campaign to various markets where she sensitised market women and men before moving from door to door across the state.

Bello, however, pleaded with the people to vote for the APC to enable the president to continue with his efforts at putting Nigeria on the right track.
