Crisis rocking the Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took another dimension on Thursday as Prince Uthman Sodipe-Dosumu, Special Adviser on Political Matters to former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George, and a PDP chieftain, Otunba Segun Adewale popularly known as Aeroland, engaged in war of words.

Following claim made by Otunba Adewale that he is now the PDP chairman and has, therefore, seized the party secretariat at Sogunle as well as the attack he made against Chief George, where he described him as major impediment to PDP’s growth in Lagos, Uthman, in a statement made available to newsmen Thursday in Lagos, described him (Adewale) as an ungrateful interloper.

According to Uthman, who is also the Oloriekun of Olowogbowo, it is rather disturbing, sickening and sad reading what he termed the illiterate diatribes emanating from Adewale, who he said is no longer a PDP member, against Chief George, even as he recalled that Otunba Adewale remained the greatest beneficiary of George’s large heartedness of which he (Uthman) is a living witness.

“It is rather disturbing, sickening and sad when one reads the illiterate diatribes emanating from one Segun Adewale against Chief Olabode George. Adewale who calls himself Aeroland is not a member of PDP. He is a bonafide member of ADP on whose platform he campaigned in a pitiable and disastrous and failed gubernatorial campaign in Ekiti in the recent election.”

“This character called Aeroland who now shoots his mouth in banal idiocy remains the greatest beneficiary of Chief Bode George’s large heartedness,” Uthman said.

Uthman, while reeling out some of the benevolent gestures, stated that he witnessed how Chief George “liberated” Adewale from the clutches of men of Special Anti-Robbery Squard (SARS) after he was arrested in 2011.

“I am a witness of how BG liberated this ungrateful character from the clutches of the SARS when he was already stripped to his birthday suit, chained and hurled into a Black Maria and perhaps set for unknown faith in 2011,” he recalled.

Besides, Uthman said he equally witnessed a situation where George gave a sum of 25,000 dollars from his personal resources to Adewale to pursue his then senatorial ambition in 2015, adding that he also witnessed this year when same Adewale “crawled and prostrated in Lugard before BG and acknowledged that he not only contested for a gubernatorial seat in Ekiti on the Platform of ADP but that he actually collected money from Fayemi’s APC when his deputy jumped ship and went to APC.”

But in a swift reaction, Otunba Adewale denied that he was ever arrested by SARS to warrant being bailed from their custody by Chief George, threatening Uthman to bring out the evidence in case he feels that his claims were right, else “should be prepared to hear from my lawyers for defamation, which I am sure his paymaster won’t be able to rescue him.”

Speaking further, the PDP chieftain, in a statement, equally denied ever collecting any money from Chief George to prosecute his 2015 election into the Senate, pointing out that it was contrary that happened, adding: “If Uthman is in doubt he should ask his paymaster to back his claim with evidence publicly.”

He said it was his habit and being a true Yoruba son to prostrate for elders, maintaining that he never for once went to beg Chief George for anything.

According to him, it was out of regard and respect, just like he did to other critical stakeholders, that he informed the former deputy national chairman of PDP, George of his intention to contest last Ekiti governorship election using African Democratic Party (ADP) platform as the immediate past governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, blocked all other candidates from even participating in the party primaries after much publicity and payment of nomination form.

“Like I said earlier, I normally prostate for Elders as an Omoluwabi, but I never for once went to beg Chief Bode George for anything. Out of regard and respect, just like I did to other critical stakeholders, I informed him that I was contesting in Ekiti governorship election using ADP because the immediate past governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose blocked all other candidates from even participating in the PDP primaries after much publicity and payment of nomination form.”

“I have never solicited for funds from him, rather I was one of the few people who donated millions of Naira to support Chief Bode George during his National chairmanship campaign which was later foiled by other candidates from the South West, to butress my claim of donating money to Chief Bode George, I still have my cheques stubs with me. Of course, there are more of my kind gesture to Chief Bode George I won’t say now.”

“I want to urge Uthman to get a proper briefing next time from his paymaster before writing jargon which will further sink him and his promoter(s),” Otunba Adewale stated.
