Dagrin: Nobody Can Step Into His Shoes – Fans React
On this day, some nine years ago, famous Nigerian indigenous rapper, Olaitan Olaonipekun, popularly known as ‘Dagrin’, lost his life.
Dagrin died following complications from injuries he sustained in an auto-crash.
The highly charismatic rapper incorporated Yoruba, English and Pidgin English in his songs giving them a different feel that set him apart from many others within the time.
In remembrance of his death and in celebration of his life and musical legacy, fans from all around the world have taken to social media to eulogize the rapper who some have termed as legendary.
For many of his fans, Dagrin is to Nigeria what Tupac is to American Hip Pop. Some argue that he paved the way for rappers like Olamide, Reminisce, CDQ and a host of others.
