Poor governance bane of Nigeria, Secondus tells China Communist party

Secondus

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, on Tuesday in Abuja blamed the poor condition of Nigerians on the incompetence of the All Progressive Congress (APC) government.

He told visiting a delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPU) led by its Deputy Director General, Mr Zhou Guohui that when the PDP reclaims its mandate, better times will return for the people.

Secondus observed that Nigeria is going through a lot of challenges especially in the area of economy and security which he said was due largely to the poor governance delivery of the ruling APC.

According to a statement from the National Chairman’s media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Secondus told his visitors that Nigeria and China share a lot in common especially in the area of population where China with over 1.4 billion persons has the largest concentration of human beings in the World while Nigeria with over 200 million people has the largest concentration of blacks in the world.

Secondus said that the large population of China makes it impossible for any nation to ignore her.

He said that the PDP would cherish deepening relationship with China “because there is a lot to learn from the country that would help in the infrastructural development of our country.”

The party boss noted that the relationship between China and Nigeria was placed on a firm footing by the PDP administration when it came to power in 1999.

Secondus commended the Chinese government for earmarking about $60b dollars for the development of Africa as he expressed the hope that Nigeria will benefit handsomely from the gesture.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation explained Chinese interest in Africa particularly Nigeria and how China has strived to maintain a good working relationship between the two countries.
