ACTIVITIES at the Commonwealth Zion Assembly (COZA) have remained unhindered despite the rape allegation against its founder, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by popular musician, Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola Dakolo in a recent interview.

Busola Dakolo had alleged that the Pastor Fatoyinbo molested and raped her when she was 16 years old.

Meanwhile, the allegation has generated a lot of heated arguments among Nigerians, as some people were of the opinion that her confession came rather too late, while some maintained that investigation should be carried out and those found wanting be punished accordingly.

Sunday Tribune visited the headquarters of COZA at Guzape in Abuja, where it gathered that normal activities was going on, to the extent that one may not know that the church had come under attack following the rape allegation on its founder.

When Sunday Tribune arrived at the church, the two policemen on guard were watchful of every step taken by Sunday Tribune probably it was an unfamiliar face.

Sunday Tribune gathered that normal preparations were ongoing ahead of the Sunday service today. Some members were seen putting structures in place just as others were seen sweeping the compound and engaged in one activity or the other.

In his response to the alleged rape, Pastor Fatoyinbo who threatened legal action on his accuser said he has never raped before, even when he was an ‘unbeliever.’

Many Nigerians who have been following the story from the beginning are keen to know the developments on the unfolding drama.

Sunday Tribune spoke with a security man managing an estate beside the church who faulted the allegation and said it was a set up by enemies to pull the pastor down.

The security man who pleaded anonymity said despite several sex scandals surrounding the pastor, his church had continued to grow on daily basis.

He maintained that the allegations were not true saying the pastor who had been assisting members of his church and others could not have been involved in such an issue capable of tarnishing his image.

FCT Police react

When contacted about the alleged planned protest against the COZA Pastor slated for today in Abuja, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police, Federal Capital Territory command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah said the command was not aware of it.

DSP Manzah, however, promised to make necessary enquiries about the matter and get back to the Sunday Tribune on true position of things about the alleged planned protest.
