Makinde sends list of 14 commissioner nominees of one female, 13 males to Assembly

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Wednesday, forwarded his much-awaited list of commissioners to the State House of Assembly.

The list directly handed over to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin comprises the names of 14 commissioner nominees.

The list comprises a female and 13 males among which is the director-general of the Seyi Makinde Campaign organisation, Chief Bayo Lawal.

However, many residents of the state yearning to hear the Speaker of the Assembly reel out the names of the nominees at Thursday’s plenary may have to wait a few days more.

The wait is not unconnected with the need to reconstitute some existing ministries and begin legislative processes to back up the newly created ministries with enabling laws.

Existing ministries like Trade, Investment and Cooperatives will be reconstituted.

The immediate past government had worked with 15 commissioners after reconstituting and creating the Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
