Senate holds valedictory session in honour of late Senator Osinowo

Lagos senator, Osinowo dies

The Senate on Wednesday held a valedictory session in honour of Senator representing Lagos East in the National Assembly, the late Senator Adebayo Sikiru Osinowo.

Osinowo had died on June 15, 2020, following a brief illness. He was aged of 64.

Also, the lawmakers observed a minute silence in honour of the deceased and prayed for the repose of his soul.

The Red Chamber had a week ago,  adjourned plenary till Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in accordance with its tradition, to mourn their deceased colleague.

The motion for valedictory session was moved by the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi (APC – Kebbi North) and seconded by the Senate minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Senators took turns to eulogise their departed colleague, the Late Osinowo. They described the deceased lawmaker as an erudite persona who contributed immensely to the development of the country.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan said the lawmaker would be greatly missed and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
