A commissioner in Akinwunmi Ambode’s cabinet, Hakeem Abdul Lateef is mobilising support for Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governorship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections.

Recall that another commissioner in the cabinet, Wale Oluwo, last week resigned his appointment and membership of the APC to join Jimi Agbaje, governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

But Abdul Lateef, who is the commissioner for Home Affairs, said the entire cabinet of Ambode is with Sanwo-Olu, who is ready to take Lagos to the next level.

Addressing a rally organised by the Itesiwaju Eko Foundation to mark its first anniversary in Ejigbo on Saturday, Abdul Lateef, Abdul Lateef, said that the rally was to mobilise support for Sanwo-Olu and other candidates of the APC at the state and national levels.

The commissioner said there was need to build on the achievements of the past administrations in the state and Sanwo-Olu would do just that.

“It has become imperative that we elect Sanwo- Olu, to continue the implementation of the master template that has ensured developments put Lagos in the driving seat among other states since 1999.”

“Today is a special rally for Babajide Sanwo-Olu. We want to tell the whole world is that the entire Lagos State cabinet is resolutely behind him in this objective.

Abdul Lateef, who is also the director of conflict resolution of Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Organisation, called on all aggrieved members in APC to work together and ensure victory in the forthcoming polls.

He advised all members to reconcile their differences in order to further promote the interest of the party. He went on to advise that people should not be distracted by the recent happening in the state political circle where one of the cabinet members left the party. “As one member left we are mobilising thousands and millions.

“The absence of one member will not affect the standing of our great party; nobody should make attempt to destroy the good works of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. Ambode who is with Sanwo-Olu, and nobody should misrepresent what is happening in government, as sign of weakening. “

“If you vote for Sanwo-Olu and you do not vote for APC as members of the House of Assembly, you have not voted for Sanwo-Olu because the legislature is the apex institution and the most important organ of government. Sanwo-Olu will need the legislature to take critical decisions that will help in moving the state forward,” said Abdul Lateef.
