NSCDC arrests pastor for sexual assault in Ondo
By MEN of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State command, on Wednesday, arrested a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) pastor, Josiah Akinsuyi, for sexually assaulting and molesting an underage which resulted in an unwanted pregnancy.
It was gathered that Pastor has been sleeping with the 16-year old girl for a period of time before the young girl became pregnant some four months ago.
Speaking on the arrest, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Pedro Awili, explained that the father of the young girl reported the case at the command after the victim confessed to her parent.

According to Awili, the underage girl who was living around the Church at Abusoro in Ijoka area of Akure, the state capital, was seduced and lured with money by the pastor who had been sleeping with her.
He disclosed that the pastor who was transferred to the church last year was introduced to the girl by one Sunday Babatunde, who had also been sleeping with the girl.
He noted that one of the sisters of the victim knew about the development, saying an investigation revealed that the girl’s sister had to intervene before the victim could cooperate with the pastor.
Awilo said the victim confessed that the pastor had been sleeping with her in one of the classrooms in the school belonging to the pastor’s wife.
“Our investigation revealed that the pastor has been sleeping with the young girl for some time. A pregnancy test had been conducted which confirmed that the girl is four months pregnant.
“We also discovered one of the elder sisters of the girl knew about the whole development.
“It was gathered that the young girl rejected the Akinsuyi overtures the first time he talked to the girl but her elder sister intervened, urging the young girl to cooperate with the pastor and she has been sleeping with her since then.
“The young girl said the man has been sleeping with her in the classroom of one private school owned by Pastor Akinsuyi’s wife. Though the pastor denied having any intercourse with the girl”
The girl, however, maintained that the Pastor was responsible for the pregnancy, and said the Pastor promised to give her N50,000 but failed to fulfill his promise because she refused to allow him to sleep with her again.
She stated that she discovered that she was pregnant after her parent forced her to the hospital for a pregnancy test.
However, Akinsuyi denied sleeping with the underage girl saying it was a deliberate attempt to smear his image.
He denied having canal knowledge of the 16-year-old girl and said all the allegations were strange to him.
