In line with the commitment of its management to building a world class university, students of the Federal University oaf Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, will soon be able to request and collect their transcripts online from any part of the world.

The registrar of the university, Dr. Bola Adekola, disclosed this recently at a workshop organized for relevant registry staff of the university.

Dr. Adekola said that aside from requests for transcript online, verification of results and certificates, statement of results, notification of results and letter of attestation would also be accessible globally online.

“The purpose of our coming together this morning is basically to demonstrate the e-Senate platform that we are introducing for Senate activities; and the thinking is that it would be beneficial for principal registrars, deputy registrars, college officers and senior registrars as well as those that are involved in Senate activities, both at college and university levels,” he said.

He therefore charged the affected members of staff to familiarize themselves with the Senate’s new portal, disclosing that very soon work on paper would go into extinction.

Expatiating on the rationale behind the e-Senate, Adekola said that he had observed that the distribution of paper is time-consuming, hence the need for the university to move beyond the use of paper work.

In his remarks, the vice chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako, who was represented by the deputy vice-chancellor (Academics), Professor Morenike Dipeolu, charged concerned registry staff to brace up to the new development, even as she lauded the registrar for the brilliant initiative.

Speaking earlier, the developer of the platform, Mr. Fadare Richard, confirmed that the e-Senate would create efficiency and secure information at the Senate.

He enumerated the advantages of the platform to include providing Senate members the opportunity to read minutes of meetings on the Senate platform, access phone numbers of members and any other information that may be required.

Participants include the deputy vice chancellor (Development), Professor Lateef Sanni; head of the Directorate of Public Relations, Dr Linda Onwuka; deputy registrars, college officers and other registry staff.
