BREAKING: Delta monarch freed by abductors

Abductors of the traditional ruler of Ogodo, an agrarian community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM Sunday Olisewokwu, have freed their victim.

TribuneOnline gathered on Wednesday morning that the monarch was released by his captors at about 9:00p.m on Tuesday.

It could not be ascertained if the N15m ransom demanded by the hoodlums was paid before the monarch’s release.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command, DSP Aniamaka, confirmed the release of the monarch to TribuneOnline on phone on Wednesday morning.

The police image maker said it was not to the knowledge of command if any ransom was paid before the captive was left off the hook.

According to him, what mattered most was the release and safe return of the royal father to his family hale and hearty.

He, however, added that the command has embarked on further investigations to apprehend the culprits and bring them to book.

Meanwhile, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Aniocha North, Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, as reported by BigPen Online, has confirmed the release of the monarch, adding that he was currently receiving a medical check-up at a private hospital in the state.

TribuneOnline recalls that two persons, on board the monarch’s SUV were injured when the kidnappers seized him on Sunday while on their way to his domain from Issele Mkpetime.
