Religious bodies ‘ll be key to my administration’s success
Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, said on Friday that religious bodies will be key to his administration’s success, expressing his readiness collaborate with them in the state in propagating his administration’s policies and programmes.
The governor said this while speaking at the Special Inauguration Jumat Service organised by the Lagos State Secretariat Mosque for him and his deputy, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat.
Imam Abdulhakeem Abdulgafar led the prayers for the governor, his deputy, their families and the state.
Sanwo-Olu said he was poised to consult and engage religious leaders in propagating policies and programmes of his administration because the congregation believed their leaders and cleric in passing across information and getting compliance.
“We believe if the religious bodies help informed the people, highlighting what and what not to do, the residents would listen and abide,” he said, even as he hinted them of plans to address the waste management in the state in a more organized way, while seeking their cooperation to ensure success of such plan.
Speaking further, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the prayers by the Muslim community were very symbolic to his team as it was held in the month of Ramadan and the last ten days and Friday of the Ramadan.
“So, we are grateful for the prayer for us and our families because it is divine.
“God will continue to answer our prayers because it is prayers that hold the key to success,” the governor said, adding that this was why he and his team would not cease praying.
