Confusion seems to trail the resignation of 252 aides of  Governor Aminu Tambuwal from the Sokoto state government.
While, the All Progressive Congress(APC) had said no fewer than 252 Special Advisers and Special Assistants, loyal to the All Progressives Congress ( APC), have resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), led Sokoto state government, the Sokoto state government had disclosed that they have relieved the said aides of their appointments in order to allow them to pursue their political ambitions.
Earlier in a press conference at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),  Sokoto on Sunday the former aides of governor Aminu  Tambuwal had announced their resignations.
Some of the former Aides who spoke on behalf of their colleagues said their action was informed by their unflinching loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and the party.
One of them, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Haske said, ” we are here to inform the good people of Sokoto state that  SAs under the APC has resigned from the government of the PDP, under Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
“We were given the positions when we belonged to the APC, but they have defected to the PDP, while we have chosen to remain In the APC.
Also, the same day,  the Director General, Media and Publicity to Gov Tambuwwal, Abubakar Shekara had issued a statement thanking the appointees for the three months they served the state, saying,  the state government had relieved them of their appointments in order to allow them to pursue their political ambitions.
Meanwhile, a statement by the media aide to the former governor, Aliyu Wamakko, Rabe Mani in Sokoto on Sunday had said the former aides of Gov Tambuwwal had tendered their resignation in order to allow them to work assiduously for APC.
” APC will win the forthcoming general elections, at all levels, and we would work assiduously, as well as fearlessly to ensure this feat. “
Two former Special Assistants, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Sokoto and Alhaji Bello Mai  Jama’a averred that they have chosen to remain In the party to beat, the APC.
According to the duo,” we will put our heads together to ensure the success of the party, at all levels in Nigeria.
“We have pledged our unflinching loyalty to the President,  Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and the entire leadership of the party, the statement said.
But in another twist, five former aides of the Gov Tambuwwal have issued a statement countering the earlier statement saying they have resigned.
‘We write to inform the public that contrary to a statement credited to us that we resigned from the services of the Sokoto State government, all appointees were actually relieved of their appointments by His Excellency Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, in his effort to reinvigorate government operations and services.
‘The decision was officially communicated by the Director General, Media & Public Affairs to the Governor Malam Abu Shekara.
‘We have accepted the decision in good faith and expressed our sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency for giving us the opportunity to serve our dear state in different capacities.
‘We also look forward to future opportunities to serve. We hereby signed on behalf of 200 others.
The  four aides were  Hon Umar Bature, former Special Adviser, Mustafa Shehu, Former SSA media, Maiakwai Abubakar, Former SSA,
Dr Aliyu Inname, Former SA Contributory Health Scheme, Hon Bashir Gidado, SA PPP
