Anambra tourism stateThe stand of Anambra State positioned at the entry point of the Function Hall at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, venue of the 2018 Akwaaba Tourism market cultivated a deluge of visitors and buyers who thronged in to interrogate and inquire about the tourism potentialities of the state.

The stand which was adorned with artworks and beautiful pictures of the tourism sites in Anambra State and manned by courteous and warm officials, stood out conspicuously and was unique in the midst of other stands.

Apart from the officials whip we are ready to tell you that the best state to visit is Anambra, the Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artwork, Culture and Tourism, Dr Sally Mbanefo, was also on hand to add value of greater importance to the asset of the state.

Mrs Mbanefo did not sit in one corner of the stand expecting her officers doing the selling as was the case in some of the stands but had to stand at the front desk personally canvassing for patronage of Anambra‘s tourism sites and wooing investors to visit the state where “My Governor is ensuring the provision of infrastructural facilities and has provided a conducive business environment for both entrepreneurs and mega business tycoons.”

Her enthusiasm, warmth and humility driven by her robust sense of purpose and stylish marketing moves diverted the traffic of tourism buyers and sellers to the Anambra Stand where they were taking on a mental tour of the state.

Dr Mbanefo explored the market to sell Anambra successfully to investors, tourist and the media who she engaged in a productive press conference where she revealed the tourism event being planned in the state in December.

“I am happy to be here. I am also glad to be here today to inform the global tourism world of a week-long tourism fiesta which is the dream of the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willy Obiano, who has an unflinching passion for the development of tourism and its enhancement for the economic emancipation of the indigenes of Anambra State.”

She revealed: “Governor Obiano in his wisdom to enhance and develop Anambra State, has planned to host the First Anambra State Homecoming Heritage Week. A week-long tourism fiesta programme packaged to open up the tourism potentialities of Anambra State first to the indigenes within the state and the country and also of great importance to the indigenes in Diaspora.”

Dr Mbanefo disclosed “It is  going to be a seven-day  global shaking and tourism tremor stoking activities which include days apportioned to  Friends of Anambra Day, Diaspora Day, Anambra Tourism Investment  Promotion Day, Anambra Artists Day,  Celebrities day, where the guests will watch a play, Things Fall Apart, a book written by Chinua Achebe.”

She said “Chief Obiano, my governor is not leaving any stone unturned at seeing that all roads lead to Anambra State by the first week of December.”

Dr Mbanefo later visited the stand of the United Arab Emirates, where she had a productive business discussion which culminated in executable policy decision by both parties.

Her drive at selling Anambra tourism potentialities to patrons of Akwaaba actuated her in visiting almost all the stands at the show.

Dr Mbanefo’s drive and passion at the tourism fair was so impressive that Mrs Desola Ajayi, Manager, EdaOto Afrocentric band described her as “a wonderful woman who understands the dictates of her position as the tourism chief marketer for Anambra State. This she has done here impressively today. I am sure if the governor can watch her moves and activities here today, he would bless the day he made up his mind to appoint her as the Commissioner for Tourism. This woman is super and a pride of Anambra State. The state did have a glorious outing.”
