Fast-rising afro pop sensation Oliks Omoba understands that competiton is rife in the music industry and he’s ready to raise his game to meet the demands and yearnings of the industry with the determination to rule the industry.

Having recorded his first song with indigenous rapper, Seriki some years back, Oliks, who has five songs to his credit, has continued to show glimpses of his God-given talent in his work, just as he gives his fans something to always talk about.

This explains why the singer, who calls his style of music Nansa HipHop a combination of Afro/Highlife was quick to return to the studio to build on the success he recorded with his last single, Kilonso, which he dropped last year.

Inspired by the likes of Konga, 9ice and 2baba, the singer hinted that he was motivated to switch his style of music from Fuji to hip-hop after seeing the success of some of the established acts in the game.

On how he intends to break into the industry, Oliks said he derived much joy in making good music that would live after him. “For me, I have never thought about how to break into the music industry, I just want to make good songs that people will keep talking about years after I might have gone,” he said.

Asked if his latest single, Seju would change the game for him, he said music for him, is a gradual process, saying he would not want to rush the process.

“My new song Seju was released last month and I am not in a rush because I know that music is a process that one must follow. I am really excited about the progress I have made from 2014 when I started music professionally till today,” he stressed.

Speaking on the artistes he would like to work with, Oliks, who has worked with Mr Real, Seriki, Lace, and Ogajojo, is looking forward to working with other big acts but would not want to push it.
