Benue former Governor flags off senatorial campaign

The former Governor of Benue State and People’s Democratic Party Senatorial candidate for Benue North East District, Gabriel Torwua Suswam yesterday at Akume Atongo Stadium in Katsina-Ala, flagged off his campaign.
Suswam and his wife Yemisi Dooshima Suswam were accompanied to the venue by House of Reps candidates for Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo, Richard Gbande that of Kwande/Ushongo, Bob Tyough and Benedict Kume of Jechira as well as all state assembly candidates of the PDP from Zone ‘A’ were all handed the Peoples Democratic Party flags as symbol and indication of commencement of campaigns.
The Zonal Chairman of the party, Azua Avough Ashongo in his welcome speech said the event is to mark formal take off of the 2019 election campaign in Zone ‘A’.
Handing over the party flags, John Ngbede who was represented by his deputy, Isaac Mffo charged candidates to quickly move into the  hinterlands of the zone and canvas for votes for the party.
Mffo said party faithfuls should bury all their differences and work as a team for the success of party in the forthcoming elections.
Azer Beke, Paul Orhii and Iho Mzenda David all spoke for Jechira, Kwande and Sankera intermediate areas respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Job Terngohol Tsegha who spoke on behalf of youths, urged Zone ‘A’ youths to see the Suswam project as theirs and promised to mobilize all Zone ‘A’ youths for Suswam’s victory come 2019. Meanwhile, Magaret Num spoke for the women.
The event saw Gabriel Suswam and other candidates marched round the arena displaying flags before supporters.
Gabriel Suswam at the occasion, the former Governor told the gathering that his differences with Governor Samuel Ortom are over and they are both working for the interest and progress of Benue State.
Suswam said members of the People’s Democratic Party in other to experience dividends of democracy in the next dispensation must vote for all candidates of PDP beginning from Atiku Abubakar, Governor Samuel Ortom, himself, all other National Assembly candidates and State Assembly candidates.
His Excellency Gov Samuel Ortom was represented by Dennis A. Ityavyar also present were Tahav Ageezua, Zaye Jerome, Paul Kura, Terkula Msughter Zozo Terkura, Tsavsar Joseph, David Sevav, Yandev Amaa Bai, Elizabeth Allagh, Margaret Icheen, Terngu Shawon and thousands of party faithfuls across Zone ‘A’ and beyond.
Gabriel Torwua Suswam from Akume Atongo stadium inaugurated a campaign office donated by Zone ‘A’ Youths near the Katsina-Ala bridge head.
The event was attended by members of the  People’s Democratic Party State executive committee members led by the State Chairman ably represented by the State deputy Chairman, Isaac Mffo, elders, youths, stakeholders and well wishers.
